Wom gets ready to enter the Chilean pay TV market with Wom TV

Chilean virtual mobile operator Wom (Novator Partners) is getting itself ready to enter the pay TV market in the country. As reported days ago by Diario Financiero on its web version, at the beginning of May, the Diario Oficial, where laws, decrees and other legal regulations in the country are published, published the inscription of the ‘Wom TV’ brand, under which the company will be able to ‘record, organize, broadcast and reproduce audio and video content’ through a STB.

According to Diario Financiero, it is a device that gets connected via Wi-Fi to smart TVs, tablets or cell phones and will allow access to live Chilean FTA TV channels, such as Canal 13, Mega, Chilevision and TV Mas, and both Chilean and international pay TV channels, like CDF, HBO, Fox, ESPN, and even OTTs, like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO GO.

In May, as reported by several specialized websites, the Wom TV app appeared on Google Play, showing its first pilot tests. Diario Financiero informed that the already mentioned app is no longer available, and quotes the Pisapapeles website, who found that Wom TV ‘had a limitation of four simultaneous broadcasting screens, with access to movie rentals and a basic plan that allows to add channels chosen by clients’.
