Colombian pay TV channel Win Sports, whose programming focuses on sports content, has officially announced this Thursday, April 22nd, that it will broadcast the Colombian Professional Basketball League. According to the information that was officially reported from the company, from next Tuesday, April 27th, until June 10th, Win Sports will broadcast the 74 matches of the competition through its screen, as well as on Win Sports Online.
‘We are very proud of being able to bring basketball emotions and being one of the promoters of this sport, which has more and more fans in Colombia. Likewise, we keep intact our commitment to provide audiences with a variety of disciplines and the most important competitions that are developed in the country’, reported Jaime Parada, President at Win Sports.
The Professional Basketball League will take place at the Evangelista Mota Coliseum in the city of Cali, which will host for the second consecutive time this local competition in the ‘bubble’ scheme, a model initially implemented in 2020, in which the teams will be housed in a hotel exclusively for the competition, and their only trips will be to the sports venue and their respective return to trainings. In its 2021 edition, the competition will bring together a total of 10 teams, which include Team Cali; Bucaros de Bucaramanga; Condores de Cundinamarca; Piratas de Bogota; Tigrillos de Antioquia; Sabios de Manizales; Cimarrones Caribbean Storm; Cafeteros de Quindío and Motilones de Cúcuta, which will make their debut this year in the competition, and Titanes de Barranquilla, champion in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
For its 2021 edition, holders have made changes in the League’s format, which will start with a knockout round in which the best eight will qualify for the quarterfinals. In playoff format, the four winners of two of the three games will move forward to the semifinals and, from there, only the two teams that win in three of the five series games will move to the final. Finally, the champion must win four of the seven clashes of the final key.
