WarnerMedia appoints HBO Max Latin America leadership team

Days after having appointed its General Entertainment team, WarnerMedia (AT&T) announced last Tuesday, January 19th, that Luis Duran will join the company as General Manager of HBO Max, the company’s new SVOD OTT, which will be launched this year in Latin America. The executive will report to Johannes Larcher, Head at HBO Max International, and will be in charge of launching and managing HBO Max in the region.

Together with Duran, the HBO Max Latin America Management team will feature Dionne Bermudez; Jose Calderoni; Dainira Falk; Maria Huntsberry; Jesus Rodriguez and Dario Tonelli.

Dionne Bermudez will lead the Product Experience team, reporting to both the Latin America team and the global HBO Max Product team, led by Sarah Lyons, to shape the app experience across all major platforms in Latin America. She will also be working together with the Growth Marketing, Content Experience and Data teams to ensure product excellence in the region.

Jose Calderoni will head the Growth Marketing team, being responsible for leading a multidisciplinary group of growth areas, such as Acquisitions, Branding, Creativity, Life Cycle and Business Development, as well as Publicity and Activations, Social Networks and Consumer Service.

Dario Tonelli will be in charge of the Data, Insights & Planning area, providing financial, strategic and competitive insights for the HBO Max Latin America team. Previously, he worked as Head of Corporate Development and Financial Analysis at Turner Latin America.

Jesus Rodriguez will lead the Content Experience team, overseeing the HBO Max Latin America’s editorial strategy, Rodriguez has previously worked as General Manager at HBO Networks Latin America.

Dainira Falk will be in charge of the Legal area of ​​HBO Max in Latin America, reporting to David Ho, Global Head of the Legal area at HBO Max. The executive has worked at HBO Latin America, where she provided legal consulting in various areas of the business in the region.

Maria Huntsberry will lead the Talents area, and will be in charge of aligning the needs of HBO Max’s business in Latin America with the talent management strategy that will help drive people, culture and business into the future. She has worked as VP and Head of Human Resources at Warner Bros.

The HBO Max Latin America team will work together with Whit Richardson, President of WarnerMedia Latin America, and leaders of his team, such as Jorge Carey, Distribution leader; Tomas Yankelevich, Chief Content Officer of General Entertainment; and Pablo Zuccarino, Kids leader in Latin America. The platform was launched in the US in May 2020, and it will soon start its international expansion into Latin America.
