VTR surpasses 2 million viewers with multi-platform coverage of Lollapalooza

Chile’s largest pay TV operator VTR announced that its coverage of the 2018 Lollapalooza festival reached 2 million viewers on all platforms.
Patricio Fuentes, marketing manager of VTR, said in a statement that the event was followed by 1.12 million users on linear TV during the three days, a figure that represents a growth of 63% compared to the 2017 edition. The most-watched concert was Red Hot Chili Peppers (146,000 viewers), followed by Mon Laferte (107,000 viewers).
The streaming platform reached 551,000 unique users, with a peak during Red Hot Chili Peppers presentation, at 10 pm on Saturday, with 72,000 unique users connected. This year, the company also offer the event via Facebook Live, which registered 374,000 unique connections.
VTR also reported that 16,500 people were connected to the Wi-Fi network in the three sites the company had in Parque O’Higgins, where the event was held. In total, 809 GB were consumed, equivalent to the average consumption of eight Chilean households in a month. 56.5% of users connected through iOS devices and 36.3% via Android. The ranking of applications was led by Instagram with 25%, Google 14%, Facebook 9.2% and YouTube 3.1%.
