As reported by the specialized website Pisapapeles, the Chilean telecommunications company VTR started to offer internet via FTTH in Quintero (Valparaiso, Chile), with speeds of 200, 500 and 600 mbps, which coincide with the offer that VTR currently provides to its HFC service subscribers. Up to now, the Chilean company has not reported itself on the matter.
Pisapapeles has also reported that VTR’s IPTV offer will allow customers to access the company’s on-demand catalog, as well as being able to rewind content (Replay TV), store content in the cloud, download apps from Google Play and watch content in 4K, and other features, such as a Google voice search button and the installation of apps such as Netflix and Spotify.
According to Pisapapeles, customers who decide to have VTR’s IPTV offer available will have an Android TV STB called ‘d-box Smart’. In addition, the website reported that the ‘Mega 200’ plan will be offered for CH $ 15,990 (USD 20) for 12 months, and then it will cost CH $ 20,990 (USD 27). The ‘Mega 500’ plan will be offered for CH $ 22,990 (USD 29) for one year, and then it will cost CH $ 25,990 (USD 33); and the ‘Mega 600’ plan will cost CH $ 26,990 (USD 34) for the first 12 months, and then it will be available for CH $ 33,990 (USD 43) per month.
