Vodafone is finalising the integration of 4G to its network and once completed it will join MTN on a high speed mobile internet offer. MTN has acquired the 4G licence in 2015 for the amount of $67.5 million, however after multiple negotiations, Vodafone, who spent $30 million, is now a strong competitor for MTN. This is to help give superior internet service to Vodafone customers across Ghana.
At a pre-launch media briefing in Accra on Tuesday, the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Yolanda Cuba, said the technical team of the company have been able to fast track the process for an early launch of the 4G service instead of later in the year 2019.
