Viu Africa has announced to its 41 million active users that four of South Africa local shows will join its line-up. The new shows are Generations: The Legacy, Muvango, Sewende Laan and finally, Makoti.
Generations: The Legacy is about those living in the City of Gold and tells about their inspirational stories. On the other hand, Muvango is a family-oriented story about the conflict between the traditional and modern ways faced by many South Africans.
Sewende Laan brings one of the country’s communities and the changing face of South Africa. Makoti is about the smash-hit comedy show that tells the modern relationship versus traditional relationship.
According to Ryan Solovei, Viu South Africa Country Manager, “on the back of the success of SABC content on the platform, we are very pleased to expand the relationship, offering their compelling storytelling for local audiences that is very much in alignment with our vision.”
SABC Group Executive: Television, Merlin Naicker, added that the agreement with Viu “demonstrates the SABC’s commitment to continuously pursue innovative ways to cater to the needs of its audiences, particularly in an increasingly competitive digital era for broadcasters”.
