Amazon Prime Video ran an exclusive streaming rights agreement, in which Videocine – a Televisa affiliate – will take the offer available in its movies catalog to Amazon Prime Video customers in Latin America. The agreement allows films produced by Videocine to be exclusively shown in Amazon Prime Video five months after its releases in the region’s movie theatres.
‘The agreement with Videocine will make it possible for Prime Video subscribers to access to the largest Mexican selection of Mexican box office movies. We are always looking for better ways to bring our customers a major experience , and we are excited to expand our Prime Video catalog with the best content’, said Pablo Iacoviello, Head of Content Acquisition at Amazon Prime Video in Latin America.
From Videocine they have also expressed themselves on the agreement through Rodrigo de Pedro, its General Director, who said that ‘bringing Videocine’s films to the Prime Video platform will allow their huge audience in constant growth to enjoy them’. Videocine’s titles will be available in HD for watching them in Prime Video, and may be downloaded temporarily to access them without internet connection on compatible movie devices.
