ViacomCBS Networks International announced that it will launch its Pluto TV platform in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, after closing a partnership with Nordic Entertainment Group, the regional company that will be in charge of advertising sales in the app. As revealed by the alliance, the service will arrive in the countries in 2022, although there is still no exact confirmed date.
In addition to the free VOD content catalogue and Pluto TV’s grid of linear channels, the service will integrate the entire Viafree library, the largest streaming platform in the Nordic region, which will cease to exist as an independent app as of next year, and it will only be available on IPTV.
Last week, ViacomCBS completed a new expansion in Latin America, after closing the purchase process of Fox Telecombia and Estudios TeleMéxico. Now, the company is once again extending its arrival globally, continuing with its growth strategy that is progressing faster and faster.
“Continuing to expand Pluto TV as the world’s leading ad-free streaming service is a critical element of our broadcast strategy, and we are delighted to partner with the NENT Group to create this new and expanded version of Pluto TV“, Raffaele Annecchino, CEO of VCNI, explained during the announcement.
