ViacomCBS has announced days ago that its SVOD OTT Paramount+, launched in Latin America last March 4th, is adding 19 new original productions to its catalog, made especially for the region. All contents will be available on the platform ‘from the third quarter of 2021’. All announced titles are produced by Viacom International Studios (VIS), in partnership with global content creators and producers.

New productions announced are ‘La gran ola’, starred by Mexican actor Diego Boneta; ‘JG Ballard Adaptation’ (provisional title), starred by Mexican actor Demian Bichir; ‘At Midnight’, a romantic comedy also starring Diego Boneta; the thriller ‘Medusa’; ‘Susana, invitada de honor’, show starred by Argentine TV host Susana Gimenez; ‘Dr. Balli’, a docuserie based on the life of Mexican doctor Alfredo Balli; ‘Adriano Emperador’, documentary series based on Brazilian football player Adriano’s life; ‘Rio Shore’, a show based on the MTV formats ‘Jersey Shore’ and ‘Acapulco Shore’ and set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: the black humor thriller ‘Las Seguidoras’, produced by the Brazilian production company Porta dos Fundos and focused in a digital influencer; and ‘El primero de nosotros’, a new series starring Chilean actor Benjamin Vicuña and Argentines Paola Krum, Luciano Castro, Jorgelina Aruzzi, Damian de Santo and Mercedes Funes.
Other titles that ViacomCBS plans to launch this year on Paramount+ are ‘El dia menos pensado’ (provisional title), a drama series produced by VIS in partnership with Z Studios; ‘Ricardo Arjona, hecho a la antigua’, exclusive gig by the Guatemalan artist Ricardo Arjona for Paramount+; the action-comedy film ‘Los fuera de la ley’; ‘Anderson‘ The Spider’ Silva’, biographical series of Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter Anderson Silva; ‘Siendo Pampita’, a documentary series that shows the life of the Argentine model and TV host Carolina ‘Pampita’ Ardohain; ‘Marley & Mirko’, a show focused on showing details of Argentine TV host Alejandro ‘Marley’ Wiebe and his son’s life; ‘Manos arriba chef’, a spin-off of the culinary reality show MasterChef (Argentine version); ‘Parot’, co-production between VIS and RTVE, based on the decision to cancel the ‘Parot Doctrine’ in Spain, in 2013; and the Spanish drama ‘Nieva en Benidorm’, a co-production between VIS, El Deseo (Pedro Almodovar’s production company), RTVE and Movistar. The original titles already detailed are added to the previously announced ‘Cecilia’, a dramedy created by Oficina Burman and starried by Mexican actress Mariana Treviño; and ‘Los Enviados’, a series co-produced by Argentine director and screenwriter Juan Jose Campanella and his producer, 100 Bares.
ViacomCBS launched Paramount+ in Latin America on March 4th. The platform’s catalog brings together more than five thousand hours of content, including Showtime titles, Paramount+ original series, CBS Television Studios and Paramount Pictures films, as well as local productions from ViacomCBS brands such as MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central. and Telefe.
