ViacomCBS launches new sales unit and restructures its streaming business

ViacomCBS announced this month that it has established a new unit called ‘Viacom International Studios Distribution”, through which it will unify all the company’s sales globally, and will be led by Laura Burrell and Lauren Marriott. The new area  will concentrate commercial distribution of co-productions, presales, formats, sales of productions from other countries  and co-developments.

‘As we continue to expand our studio’s global presence, our new content sales division will allow us to be more efficient and simplify our relationship with clients, thus taking full advantage of the unprecedented demand for quality content around the world’, reported the Pierluigi Gazzolo, President, Studios and Streaming at ViacomCBS

However, recently ViacomCBS has also announced a restructuring in the company, in which Gazzolo will leave his position to take care of ‘other interests’. In terms of OTT, the company has recently announced Pluto TV’s linear channels catalog in Brazil, where it will officially arrive in December this year. In addition, months ago, a new premium SVOD platform was announced for 2021 in Latin America and the Nordic countries, called Paramount+, in similarity to the SVOD platform that the company launched in several Latin American countries throughout 2019.
