According to what several Chilean websites have reported, ViacomCBS is about to buy Chilean FTA TV channel Chilevision. As reported by ‘El Mostrador’ website, negotiations are ‘in very advanced talks’ with Turner, the company that owns the TV channel.
‘El Mostrador also reported that the transaction would be valued at between USD 14 million and USD 20 million. However, the amount does not include the Turner building in Santiago de Chile, nor the CDF (Canal de Futbol) sports TV network, which owns the TV rights to broadcast the Chilean Professional Football League. According to ‘El Filtrador’, another Chilean website, the transaction between ViacomCBS and Turner for Chilevision ‘is a fact’.
Since 2016, ViacomCBS owns the Argentine FTA TV channel Telefe and, in Latin America it has several pay TV channels, such as Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, VH1 and Paramount Network.
