The audiovisual entertainment company ViacomCBS Networks International reached an agreement with The Walt Disney Company to acquire a majority stake in Fox Telecolombia & Estudios TeleMéxico. From now on, the company will be able to be part of the production and distribution of content in Spanish in both countries, and thus expand its offer to Latin American countries again.
After the purchase, VCNI will have access to the studios’ operations, an action that allows it to reinforce its production capacities for the Spanish-speaking regions. Previously, the company had already acquired the open TV signals from Telefe (Argentina) and Chilevisión (Chile). In addition, it will have in its possession the content libraries of Fox Telecolombia & Estudios TeleMéxico, to integrate them both to its streaming platforms, Paramount Plus and Pluto TV, as well as to its grid of linear signals.
“The extraordinary work our team has done over the years, combined with ViacomCBS ‘vision, iconic brands, experience, professionalism and creativity will bring nothing less than the best for both businesses“, Samuel Duque Rozo, Founder and CEO of Fox TeleColombia & Estudios TeleMéxico, said. Although the agreement still depends on regulatory approval, the parties have already confirmed that they will work in partnership to operate the studios.
