Univision strengthens its steaming executives team after launching its new OTT together with Televisa

Spanish-language and media content company Univision Holdings, Inc. has officially announced this last Friday, July 30th the addition of new leaders to its streaming leadership team, following the recent announcement of a new global streaming platform, which will feature both free ad-supported (AVOD) AND premium subscription (SVOD) based offerings, and whose launch is scheduled for 2022 in the US and Latin America. New appointed executives will join Pierluigi Gazzolo’s leadership team in August.

Each of them brings a unique perspective that will strengthen our position as a global streaming leader’, the executive added.

According to the information officially reported by Univision, Augusto Rovegno has been appointed as the company’s new Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and SVOD Programming. In this role, Rovegno will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring content for both AVOD and SVOD tiers of Univision’s recently announced global streaming service. He will also be responsible for developing original films, curating and programming for the SVOD tier. Rovegno will report to Rodrigo Mazon, EVP & GM, SVOD Streaming at Univision.

Cameron Carr has been appointed Executive Vice President, Data and Insights, Streaming; and Mariela Stescobich joins Univision as Senior Vice President, Marketing, User Growth and Retention for AVOD. Carr will oversee the Data Analytics functions for all Univision Streaming, including AVOD and SVOD and all other digital platforms. Stescobich will be tasked with driving customer acquisition and retention for PrendeTV, including the future global AVOD tier, as well as other ad-supported digital tiers. Both Carr and Stescobich will report to Rafael Urbina, EVP and GM, AVOD Streaming at Univision.

The last appointment announced by Univision is that of Daniel Sanders, who is joining the company as Senior Vice President, Engineering, Streaming. Sanders will oversee the development of streaming technology platforms and services. He will report to Michael Cerda, Univision’s Executive Vice President, Product & Engineering, Streaming.
