The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has settled an agreement with Chinese technology brand Hisense centered on the distribution of the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion’s Fight Pass streaming service.
The agreement ensures distribution of the UFC over-the-top (OTT) platform on VIDAA-powered Hisense and Toshiba smart TVs as from August.
The VIDAA smart platform, a Linux-based open smart TV operating system, is available on products in more than 120 countries around the world. The pre-installation of UFC Fight Pass on Hisense does not provide users with a subscription, which costs US$10.99 per month or a one-off annual fee of US$104.99.
Furthermore, Hisense becomes an official marketing partner of the UFC, with branding featured in the octagon at select UFC events for the remainder of 2021. Hisense will also be the presenting partner of select UFC digital content distributed across UFC social media platforms in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe, and the Middle East.
The Vice President and General Manager of UFC Fight Pass, Crowley Sullivan, said, “This collaboration is a win-win, as it will help us expand our global reach for Fight Pass, while exposing Hisense products to UFC’s fanbase in key markets.”
