TV Azteca partners with Lauman Group to broadcast Fox Sports content

The Mexican station TV Azteca announced that it reached an agreement with the Lauman Group, owner of Fox Sports, to exclusively commercialize all the contents of the sports signal, as of January 1st, 2022. However, they have not yet revealed details regarding which format will be chosen for the transmissions or until when the alliance will be valid.

Until now, TV Azteca’s sports programming included the matches of seven teams from the First Mexican Soccer Circuit, but none of the contracts included an exclusivity pact. But starting next year, thanks to the agreement with Fox Sports, it will be able to broadcast exclusive content such as the matches of the First National Soccer Division, in addition to the Bundesliga, the UEFA Europa League, the Concacaf Champions League, the National Football American League and Formula 1, among others.
“This alliance consolidates an offer of unique sports content with relevant events 365 days a year, generating the opportunity to have alternatives for all categories and targets for our clients“, TV Azteca said in a statement. “We are convinced that the game is ours and that together we will develop omnichannel strategies that combine all the most effective and efficient sports platforms in open TV as well as pay TV and Digital“, the company explained.
