Chilean National Professional Football Association (ANFP) confirmed days ago the return of Professional Football in the country for this coming Saturday, August 29th, after being canceled in March due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The entity also published the schedule of pending matches canceled because of the pandemic, as well as those of the ninth fixture date of the tournament, which will begin next September 3rd.
In Chile, TV rights for professional football belong to the Canal de Futbol (CDF), owned by Turner. All the matches of the Chilean League can be watched through the premium channels of the CDF Premium pack, or via OTT through the Estadio CDF platform. In addition, the ANFP and Turner Chile have ran an agreement this year for Chilevision to bring some of Chile’s Professional League’s matches to FTA TV, thus developing joint broadcasts with CDF.
The Chilean Professional Football League will be resumed on Saturday, August 29th and Sunday, August 30th, with pending matches from previous fixture dates, which could not be played due to the pandemic. On Saturday 29th, Colo Colo will face Santiago Wanderers, televised by CDF. Later, also this Saturday, Coquimbo will face Huachipato, with CDF and Chilevision broadcasts. Saturday will end with the match that will face Universidad Catolica and Union Española, which will also be broadcasted on CDF.
On Sunday 30th, O’Higgins will play against Antofagasta. Later, Palestino will face Universidad de Chile; and Curico will play against Union La Calera. All matches will be broadcast on CDF channels. The pending fixture dates will end on Tuesday, September 1st, with the match that will star Coquimbo and Audax Italiano, with the same TV broadcasts. The first fixture date that will be played once the pending matches of previous dates have been finished will be number 9, starting on Thursday, September 3rd.
