AVOD OTT Tubi announced last January a partnership agreement with TV Azteca to launch in Mexico this year and, after having been officially acquired by Fox, confirmed its launch in the country through the VIDAA smart OS platform on Hisense TVs; iOS and Android mobile devices, via web and additional devices, which will be added in the future.
In Mexico, Tubi will offer a Spanish-language-dubbed and subtitled content catalog, from the US and Latin America. These include Hollywood classics and entertainment titles for all audiences, as well as content from TV Azteca. The Mexican company will also offer some of its titles in the AVOD OTT, such as ‘Exatlon Mexico’, ‘MasterChef’; ‘Lo que la gente cuenta’, ‘Montecristo’, ‘Mientras haya vida’, ‘Bellezas indomables’ and ‘Amor en custodia’, all for free. TV Azteca will also be in charge of selling Tubi advertising in Mexico and promoting the platform among the country’s audiences.
‘Tubi’s launching in Mexico continues to show our constant effort to expand to other regions in the world’, said Farhad Massoudi, CEO at Tubi. ‘Together with TV Azteca, our presence in Mexico is well positioned to implement our mission of providing popular content at no cost and for everyone’, added the executive.
From TV Azteca, Alberto Ciurana, Chief Content & Distribution Officer, expressed himself on the partnership agreement with Tubi and reported that they have dedicated themselves ‘to creating the best content to satisfy audiences’. In addition, the executive said that ‘creativity and innovation are the best ways to reach audiences and continue to grow, and Tubi is a partner with whom we will reach more audiences’.
Tubi has also ran an agreement with Hisense and its VIDAA smart OS platform in Mexico. The AVOD OTT catalog will be preloaded on the main interface of VIDAA TV, and will be available as an app in the ‘Vidaa Free’ section of the platform, as well as its dedicated ‘free content’ button, available on remote controls.
