The AVOD OTT Tubi, officially acquired by Fox last year, and available in Mexico in partnership with TV Azteca, confirmed its plans to produce and release original content this year, including content produced by Fox Entertainment. The platform will give more details on the new releases and will hold a presentation for advertisers next week.
According to information reported by the specialized website Variety and others, the platform will start to produce around 140 initial hours of content, which will include animated programming from Bento Box Entertainment (Fox); original documentaries from Fox Alternative Entertainment; science fiction, romance, thriller, and other titles. Tubi’s library now features more than 30 thousand movies and TV shows.
‘At Fox Entertainment, we’re engaging every part of the company, including Fox Alternative Entertainment and Bento Box, to develop original titles for Tubi’, reported Charlie Collier, CEO at Fox Entertainment. ‘Working together as one, we are combining all of our skills and talents with Tubi’s data-driven technology, to produce original content that speaks directly to Tubi’s passionate streaming audience’, the executive added.
