Mexican telecommunications company Totalplay (Grupo Salinas) has officially announced this Wednesday, August 11th, the launch of ‘Totalplay TV’. It is a new STB through which it aims to redefine its client’s entertainment experience The device was developed in partnership with the French technology company Sagemcom.
According to the information reported by Totalplay, the new STB has three built-in speakers and a subwoofer designed by Bang & Olufsen, a Danish company responsible for manufacturing audiovisual products, which will allow Totalplay customers to improve their acoustic experience when using the device. In addition, Totalplay TV features Dolby Atmos technology, which will make possible a better audio experience, to which is added a Wi-Fi 6 repeater that the device has, which will allow the company’s clients to take advantage of the internet speed without using additional cables.
Totalplay TV brings together a catalog of more than 280 TV channels, and allows to make catch up in the programming grid in a period of up to seven days, as well as restarting content, renting movie premieres and music gigs and watching up to two events at the same time through the ‘Picture in Picture’ feature. Apart from the device, the app will include a remote control to control Totalplay TV from any device and from anywhere in the home.
Another of the most relevant features of Totalplay TV focuses on the possibility of performing voice commands and having the Alexa virtual assistant integrated, which allow Totalpay’s clients to manage smart home devices, and even request music and TV programs, series and films. In addition, it is possible to access on demand content, and apps such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and HBO, and enjoy their titles in 4K HDR quality. The device has the Amazon Music, Spotify and Deezer apps pre-integrated. To access, Totalplay customers must have an account created in each of the offers.
