South African pay-DTH operator, On Digital Media (ODM), has announced that former TopTV customers whose subscriptions had lapsed when the broadcaster went bankrupt can use their decoders to receive the rebranded pay-TV service of StarSat.
“Subscribers can choose to buy a new StarSat high-definition decoder for a reduced price if they already had a satellite dish installation,” said Eddie Mbalo, CEO of ODM. “Customers who have TopTV decoders would still be able to use those decoders to receive the StarSat signal.”
Mbalo said StarSat has simplified its packages to offer more channels per package at better prices. Add-on packages like StarSat Indian will cost ZAR 99 (USD 9.6) per month for nine channels and StarSat Chinese will cost ZAR 149 (USD 14.4) per month for 17 Chinese channels.
