Another of the panels that will take place during what will be the second Nextv Sport Latin America’s virtual edition is called ‘The sport TV business in the new normality’, which is scheduled for next Wednesday, May 5th, between 11:30 AM (CDMX) and 12:10 PM (CDMX). Registration for this one and the rest of the conference’s panels can be done here.
Some of the main topics to be developed and debated during the panel will focus on the impact of sports business crisis in the TV rights and monetization; new ways of monetization; transformation and unbundling of the pay TV industry and the impact of sports business models; new agreements with players, teams, federations and TV rights holders, and other related issues. Industry executives especially gathered by Dataxis to star in the panel are Jose Platao Rocha, GM DirecTV Sports, VP Development & Production at DirecTV Latin America; and Matias Rivera, Founder & CEO at Fanatiz.
Following the success of its first virtual edition in 2020, Nextv Sport Latin America 2021 will bring together the top executives making live sports broadcasting happen in a region that is home to some of the world’s most passionate fans. Recent changes in sports broadcasting consumption trends, which have been accelerated by the Covid pandemic, have forced rights owners, leagues, teams, TV networks and sports streaming services to reassess their short, medium and long-term strategy. The event will be sponsored by Accedo, Kaltura, Nunchee, WSC Sports, Bitmovin and Ross, and will take place on Tuesday, May 4th and Wednesday, May 5th, starting at 9:00 AM (CDMX) both days.
Registration for the Nextv Sport Latin America’s virtual edition is free for Latin American pay TV operators; FTA broadcasters; sports TV channels, OTT platforms, leagues, teams and associations, and telecom operators.
