Televisa Deportes has been awarded with YouTube’s Gold Play Button for quintupling its fan base by reaching more than 1 million subscribers on that video platform, where the company offered content of the World Cup in Russia.
In a statement, Televisa said that this increase reflects the interest of Mexicans for soccer and sports content: 46% said they use YouTube every day during major sporting events to watch videos.
“The Televisa Deportes channel on YouTube fulfilled the goal of offering a digital window with high quality content during one of the most important sporting events in the world. Certainly, the strategic alliance we made with YouTube was very important to achieve these results, “said Piero Ricci, director of Televisa Deportes.
The company also reported that the contents of Televisa Deportes generated more than 292 million views at the end of the World Cup on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
