Telefónica Hispanoamérica’s IPTV accesses increased 61.8% in Q3 2021

Telefónica Hispanoamérica announced the financial results of its operations for the end of the third quarter of 2021 and revealed that of the 2.86 million Pay TV accesses obtained, 811 thousand correspond to the use of IPTV in Argentina, Chile and Colombia, which represents an increase of 61.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Unlike the aforementioned countries, in Brazil the service began to decline from the beginning of 2021, since in Q4 2020 the number of subscribers had increased 4.2% and in the first quarter of the following year, the growth was barely 2.6%. In this way, it continued to decrease from period to period, and in Q3 of 2021 it presented a loss of 0.1% of customers.

Regarding Pay TV accesses in all Latin American operations, the increase was 0.5% year-on-year. Meanwhile, fixed broadband grew 5.4% compared to Q3 2020 and exceeded 5.7 million accesses, of which 4.08 million correspond to the FTTH network.
