Telecommunications Operator from Argentina, Telecentro, unveiled that has already sold 20 thousand units of the remote control with voice command that offers its TV service. The new product began to be commercialized on November 1 st.
The information was given within the official presentation of the remote control. The goal is to ‘avoid the text typing, which in an Smart TV is usually messy and slow’, said Sebastián Perri, company director.
In the event, authorities explained that the remote control has a microphone able to recognize voice commands and it is lined to the STB (only devices enabled are the 4K and Smart HD) by Bluetooth. Also, an internet connection is needed.
Regarding the company’s structure, Fernando Herrera, CTO, said that ‘the company is developing a strong investment plan, near USD 500 million during the last years’. ‘Today its allow us to offer Docsis 3.1 technology and in some places FTTH for corporate customers. Nowadays, we have 8500 kilometers of fiber installed’, he added.
