According to information recently reported by several specialized websites in Brazil, the pay TV operator Sky (AT&T) acquired the rights to broadcast the 2021 edition of the Copa do Nordeste, a competition for which the DTH launched a premium package that can be hired both on a monthly basis to access some matches, for R$ 23.90 (USD 4); or for all of them, for R$ 59.90 (USD 11).
As reported from the UOL Esporte website, Sky’s premium package will feature 59 of the 72 Copa do Nordeste matches, starting on January 26th. The broadcasting rights of the remaining 13 events are exclusive to Fox Sports, to be broadcast on pay TV. In addition, the OTT LiveFC will broadcast matches of the competition, while some of them will also be aired on FTA TV, through SBT Nordeste. Likewise, those matches that are being disputed on January 26th and February 2nd will be available to all Sky subscribers. The Copa do Nordeste is taking place until May 9th.
‘Football is the most popular sport in Brazil, and the Copa do Nordeste delivers valuable content to Sky customers, who are located in different regions of the country. We are present in all Brazilian municipalities, and we aim to deliver relevant programming for each consumer profile. With this new package, that audience will be able to follow the tournament, cheering on their favorite team’, reported Andre Ribeiro, Director of Product Marketing Pay TV at Sky Brazil.
