The OTT Quibi (acronym from ‘Quick Bites’) will be officially launched next April 6th, 2020 in North America and, later on, it will reach the rest of the world. Subscriptions with advertising will cost USD 4.99 per month. They will last between 10 and 15 seconds and will be shown before the contents. The company will also launch a plan without advertising, which will have a monthly cost of USD 7.99.
The platform will offer contents that will last between two and two hours and a half, divided into up to 15 seven to ten minutes episodes, which will be released once a week. It is estimated that during the first year before its launching, the company will develop seven thousand pieces of content , with contributions from Steven Spielberg, Guillermo del Toro, Antoine Fuqua, Sam Raimi and Steven Soderbergh.
In terms of ownership, two versions of each series will exist. The first will be the Quibi version divided into segments, which will be owned exclusively by Quibi for seven years. At the same time, the creator of the project will edit together a full-length version with no segmentation. After two years, the creator will fully own the full-length version and will be authorized to sell it globally.
