Sharp and Roku launch new smart TV line in Mexico

After announcing a partnership with JVC in July, Sharp Electronics Corporation and Roku announced last week the launch of the Sharp Roku TV smart TVs line in Mexico, with screen sizes ranging from 32 to 40 inches. The first model to be officially released is the 45-inch Sharp Roku Full HD, the first Roku TV of this size in the country, which is already for sale in Walmart stores. The rest of the models will be available at the end of the year, in the same stores.

‘We are excited to bring the new Sharp Roku TVs line to Mexico, including the only 45-inch Roku TV available in the country’, said Arthur van Rest, Roku’s International VP. ‘The Sharp brand is recognized for its excellent TV technology, and now, together with the Roku operating system, consumers in Mexico will be able to enjoy a great entertainment experience at an affordable price’, he added.

The new Sharp Roku TV models include the latest Roku operating system, which offers an intuitive home screen and access to more than 100 thousand movies and TV shows, through free or pay TV channels. The new Sharp Roku TV line includes 32-inch HD models (2T-C32CF2UR); 45-inch FHD (2T-C45CF2UR); 55-inch 4K UHD (4T-C55CL2UR); and 60-inch 4K UHD (4T-C60CL2UR).

From HD to 4K UHD models, they all feature Sharp hardware and the display panel technologies and features of Roku TV. 4K UHD models feature four HDMI ports, two USB ports, and an Ethernet port to meet the connectivity needs of customers. HD and FHD models also have input and output ports, and all models come with built-in WiFi connectivity.

Some of the main features of Roku TV models include Roku Voice, which allows users to launch voice commands to search for channels, titles, actors, or genres; as well as the ability to pause live content by clicking on the ‘pause’ button on Roku’s remote controls. Roku TVs also work with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This way, customers can request their enabled devices to start channels, find movies, play music and other features from their Roku TV. Additionally, Roku TV 4K models support HDR 10 content, which makes colors brighter, particularly in scenes where landscapes are seen.
