Rubens Menin now owns 100% of CNN Brazil

Douglas Tavolaro, CEO at CNN Brazil, announced his decision to leave his position and sell his equity stake to illionaire Rubens Menin, founder, main shareholder and president of MRV Engenharia, which is the biggest Brazilian homebuilder and real estate company.

Up to now, CNN Brazil has not reported the name of the executive who will replace Tavolaro, although a transition period is taking place, and will last for 90 days. 

According to Forbes. Menin is ranked 1372 among billionaires worldwide, and 40th among the richest men in Brazil. In 2018 he was distinguished with the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year award, which recognizes successful entrepreneurs, both in the business world and social world. Menin was the first South American entrepreneur that received this recognition.

CNN Brazil was officially launched on the main pay TV operators in the country on March 15, 2020, and is currently working on its new TV Everywhere platform, which it plans to launch later this year. In February 2020, CNN Brazil announced on its official social networks that it plans to launch a TV Everywhere platform, called ‘CNN Brazil GO’, as part of its multiplatform strategy.
