Radio Television Española (RTVE) announced that it will launch RTVE Play, its new OTT, in Americas this coming Monday, June 8th. Its offering will include premium and on-demand content with a selection from the broadcaster’s audiovisual content. The platform was already available in Latin America since April, when a trial version was launched in Panama.
Access to the RTVE Play catalog will be free for the first month, and then subscribers will be able to access its content offer for a USD 2.99 monthly subscription through the platform’s web version or from any mobile device, through an app for iOS and Android. As detailed from the company, the OTT will provide access to productions such as ‘Isabel’; ‘Estoy vivo’; ‘Carlos Rey Emperador’; ‘Nebola’; ‘La Caza. Monteperdido’; ‘Malaka’; ‘Promesas de Arena’ or ‘Cuentame como paso’, in addition to a wide movies offer.
‘RTVE Play is a very important step in the strategy to expand the reach of the best content of Television Española, and overcome territorial limitations, using all the resources that technology offers us’, said Rosa Maria Mateo, Provisional Administrator at RTVE.
From the company they also highlighted that RTVE Play ‘is part of the corporation’s internationalization strategy, and has the guarantee and experience of Spanish public TV in quality content production.
