Pablo Guzman, Costa Rican Repretel Group’s Sports Director, confirmed that the company completed the American Cup broadcasting rights acquisition exclusively in that country. The 26 matches that are part of the competition can be watched on channels 6 and 11, the GolPlay app, and online.
‘A year ago it was the World Cup in Russia at the same time of the year, and now we will put on air this tournament with very important football National Teams like Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile or Colombia, that fans will be able to watch them playing live and on FTA TV’, said Guzman, who explained that Repretel will broadcast all the competition’s instances, which includes the qualifying matches, semifinal and final steps, as well as the opening and closing shows.
Repretel will also broadcast the Gold Cup on its platforms, which will take place between June 15th and July 17th. The competition’s broadcasting rights will be shared with Teletica. This year’s edition will take place in 15 cities in the US, one in Costa Rica and one in Jamaica. It will be the first time in history that the event will have three different headquarters. National Teams from Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama are into the ones taking part of the championship.
