Radio Television Dominicana to develop digital broadcasts from December

Radio Televisión Dominicana (RTVD) and the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA) agreed to put digital TV into operation in the the Dominican Republic from December. The agreement also contemplates a USD 585 thousand donation in technological equipment for the Dominican channel by RAPA.

‘This agreement allows the State channels to be the first with digital network in high definition and with the possibility of broadcasting in 4K resolution’, said Ramon Tejeda Read, Director at RTVD.

Channel 17 (the educational channel) digital broadcast will be launched in December,which will be operated by the Education Ministry, together with the 4RD channel, which both will be the first to apply this technology in the Dominican Republic.
