Pluto TV launches its first live channel in Latin America

ViacomCBS announced on Wednesday that Pluto TV, its AVOD OTT launched this year in Latin America, has added its first live channel with the premiere of ‘Telefe Noticias’(channel 205). It is the first live channel to be included in the platform’s catalog, which allows its users to stay informed with the news broadcast by the Argentine FTA TV channel Telefe, a channel that Viacom officially acquired at the end of 2016 for a total of USD 345 million.

The platform has also launched a new category, called ‘News’ and added another five channels to its content catalog in the region, which are called ‘Historias de ultratumba’ (channel 263); ‘Pluto TV Misterios Medicos0 (channel 265); ‘Misterios sin resolver’ (channel 309); ‘All Elite Wrestling’ (channel 410); and ‘El reino infantil’ (channel 717).

‘Every month, Pluto TV launches new channels with content from various genres and formats to entertain all types of audiences. Currently, it features 60 channels and agreements with more than 100 content partners in the region, including TV networks, film studios, publishers and digital media companies’, they reported from the company.

Days ago, ViacomCBS announced the linear channels and on demand content catalog that will be part of the Pluto TV Brazil portfolio, the country in which the platform will be officially launched in December. In addition, as reported by ViacomCBS, in September, Pluto TV managed to position itself in the region as the second most downloaded entertainment app on the Google Play Store, according to data reported by Sensor Tower.
