An African subsidiary of Pixagility, based in Abidjan, Pixafrica offers services for capturing and delivering TV channels, content processing for VOD platforms, storage and updating audiovisual catalogs, file transfer around the world, and editorial animation. To support the growing demand for television channels in Africa, Pixafrica, in partnership with Harmonic, the world leader in video broadcasting solutions, is deploying a state-of-the-art playout infrastructure in its highly secure data center Abidjan.
From now on, there will be more than twenty SD and HD channels that can be broadcasted from the Ivorian Broadcasting Authority, whose programming, operation and supervision will be provided by dedicated teams of Pixafrica. Passions TV, Savannah TV and Edan TV will be the first channels to be broadcasted on this platform.
Harmonic’s playout solution in compressed mode is suitable for creating and broadcasting SD / HD channels. With the ability to insert and deliver regional content, live as a file, this complete solution ideally meets the requirements for ease of deployment, use, reliability and robustness.
These channels can then be delivered to major African operators and worldwide, thanks to streaming transport technologies and the already effective interconnections with telecom operators and media groups in Pixafrica’s main international POPs (Paris, London, France). Miami, Toronto, …).
Pixafrica has a team of audiovisual operators in Abidjan trained in Harmonic broadcast equipment and supported by Pixagility teams.
