Parallel Wireless and Telesol to introduce 4G LTE in Ghana

Parallel Wireless has inked a deal with Ghana’s LTE network Telesol to connect citizens and businesses in Ghana with 4G wireless services. African countries face hard restraints in the development of even the fixed-line infrastructure. Furthermore, they can also improve the development of fixed-networks, into new technologies such as 4G/LTE with its huge potential for communication and data transmission that will improve developing economies.

Competition in the telecom industry in Africa has increased, compelling service providers to look for new strategies and reduce deployment and maintenance costs. However, Parallel Wireless provides an Open RAN solution for delivering coverage to remote areas that is easy to deploy and affordable to install, maintain and upgrade without requiring additional hardware.

The Director of Telesol, Funmi Lamptey, declared, ‘’The on-boarding of Telesol in the Broadband Wireless (BWA) space in Ghana would be a relief to heavy data users and represented a win for a local company. The partnership with Parallel Wireless is a strategic decision based on efficiency, innovation, support and cost-effectiveness.’’

On the other hand, Christoph Fitih, the Sales Director Africa of Parallel Wireless, added, ‘’African countries need to adopt new technologies to prevent a further marginalisation of Africa from the world economy and to eliminate the widening of the current digital divide between Africa and the rest of the world.’’
