Chilean FTA TV channel Chilevision is also joining the 2019 Pan American Games broadcasts, which are being developed until August, 11th in Lima, Peru. As it was officially reported, the Turner channel is broadcasting the competition on its FTA TV network and on its website, where access to the Pan American Games contents was enabled 24 hours a day.
‘We will have ultra HD equipment, with mobiles brought from Europe. The idea is that these games are at the Olympic Games level, but in South America, with Chileans competing for medals’, said Marco Antonio Cumsille, Chilevision’s Sports Department Executive Producer. This Pan American Games edition has 317 athletes from Chile, who are competing in 34 sports. This is the largest number of Chileans in the competition’s history.
The channel also reported that it will devote more than 915 hours to the sporting event broadcast. From Monday to Friday, Chilevision airs the competition between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., and on weekends it develops live broadcast from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and between 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. In all cases, schedules correspond to Chilean standard time. Additionally, the Turner channel will broadcast the competition via streaming 24 hours a day. This way, all sports can be accessed through Chilevision and Chilean Football Channel’s websites, and on Chilevision’s YouTube official account. ‘When we are not on air, people can continue watching all these sports from these platforms. This will allow the audience to have the possibility to watch the competitions from anywhere’, said Cumsille.
