Oi expands its OTT offer with new subscription models

The Brazilian company Oi announced it has relaunched its OTT ‘Oi Play’ under a subscription model no longer restricted to its telephony and pay TV clients, but for any user who has a mobile or fixed broadband offer available. The new version of the OTT includes up to 50 live pay TV channels and on-demand content such as movies, series, news, children’s content, sports and movies recently released in theaters.

For non-clients of the company, the hiring, access and payment of the monthly subscription are made online, by credit card, and some of the live channels and the available content are Discovery, ESPN, Fox Premium, HBO, Telecine , Cartoon Network, Esporte Interativo Plus, Paramount + and Vubiquity.

One of the new features available on Oi Play is called ‘Para Trocar’, in which users will be able to choose which on-demand content they want to access, according to their interests. Each available content is valued in ‘plays’, the platform’s virtual currency, which offers subscription plans with an offer that varies between 5 and 85 plays. When logging in, each client must choose the content they want to access and, after 30 days, they can modify their choice by accessing the ‘Para Trocar’ menu. In addition, Oi Play also includes the ‘Download and Play’ feature, within the content available for rent. With it, users can download the content they rent – such as movies recently released in theaters – on various devices, and access them without the need for an internet connection, for 48 hours.

The three monthly subscription models to hire Oi Play include the ‘Top’ model, with 85 plays at R$ 49.90 (USD 9); ‘Advanced’ model, with 35 plays, at R$19.90 (USD 3); and ‘Basic’ model, with 5 plays, for R $ 6.90 (USD 1). In addition, Oi offers free access for the first 30 days.
