New OTTs with ‘zero investment’ and new ‘revenue streams’ star in Dataxis new virtual panel

Before the coming Nextv Series Argentina & South America edition, scheduled for November 4th and 5th, Dataxis will held this Thursday, October 29th at 1:00 PM (ART),  a new virtual panel, called ‘How to build an OTT with ‘zero investment’ and new ‘revenue streams’’, and sponsored by SeaChange. With the aim of debating on this issue, Dataxis gathered a panel with expert executives from the industry, such as Gustavo Marra, Vice President Business Development de SeaChange; Mikel Darrigues, Latam SaaS Business Development Director de Harmonic; and Santiago Escobar Lloreda; New Business Manager at RCN Television. 

The development of OTT has become mandatory for pay TV operators, FTA broadcasters and Pay TV networks, and an opportunity for ISPs and content owners. However, starting the business is expensive due to the need to invest in the platform, and with uncertain income from subscription or advertising. Nowadays new “zero investment” models are emerging with cloud TV and SaaS OTT platforms that include only revenue share with technology suppliers in new revenue streams as unused ad inventory for addressable advertising.

This way, some of the main topics that will be implemented as a guideline during the debate will focus on OTT entry barriers in Latin America; SaaS OTT and own OTT platforms features; monetization of unused ad inventory; strategies for FTA broadcasters and TV networks; pay TV operators with linear OTT and VOD; and others.
