New Line Cinema’s The Many Saints of Newark to release in UAE & Saudi Arabia

New Line Cinema’s The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel to the HBO drama series The Sopranos, will be released in theatres in UAE and KSA on October 7, 2021. Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema obtained the rights to produce The Many Saints of Newark alongside HBO Films.

The film is set in the explosive era of the Newark riots, when rival gangsters began to rise up, challenging the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the city.

It has to be noted that Alan Taylor, who won an Emmy for his directing work on The Sopranos, has helmed the film from a screenplay by series creator David Chase and Lawrence Konner, based on characters created by Chase. It is produced by Chase, Konner and Nicole Lambert, with Michael Disco, Marcus Viscidi, Toby Emmerich and Richard Brener serving as executive producers.

The Many Saints of Newark was shot on location in New Jersey and New York, and several characters from the original series that inspired the film are featured in the movie. During its six-season run, The Sopranos—was awarded 21 Primetime Emmy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, and two Peabody Awards, to name only a few.
