Hilton hotel’s network, which offers Netflix in its US rooms, announced that from 2019 will extend the agreement with the OTT platform to deploy it internationally, which could include Latin America. Netflix already has agreements signed with other hotel networks such as Marriott International, Starwood, Four Seasons, Best Western, Wyndham, Hyatt and Intercontinental to implement streaming services in their rooms.
To enter Netflix in Hilton’s connected rooms, guests can use ‘Hilton Honors’ application from a cell phone and add Netflix to their “favorites” list for easy access. Guests who prefer to access with TV’s remote control can press the “Netflix” button, which leads directly to the platform’s login screen.
Bill Holmes, Netflix business development head, said partnership ‘extends our commitment to allow our subscribers to watch their favorite Netflix series, movies and specials whenever and wherever they want, and we are delighted to provide our service to our Hilton guests. around the world’.
Those guests who do not have a Netflix account can create an account in their rooms, while current subscribers can choose to continue viewing the content they left before entering the hotel. Hilton Connected Room platform keeps guests’ login information during their stay, and automatically deletes it when they leave.
