Netflix announced that it will develop 30 productions in Brazil in the next two years, including original series, films and documentaries. Contents range to be included covers thrillers, romance, comedy and family and children issues. The company will record  its projects in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Cimbres and Tocantins.

‘Brazil has an extraordinary talent and a great stories long tradition, which is why we are very excited to increase our commitment in the Brazilian creative community. These 30 projects, which are in several production  stages in different parts of the country, will be held in Brazil and they will be watched worldwide’, said Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s Contents Executive Director.

Some of the projects to develop by the OTT are the iconic 1980s comic series O Menino Maluquinho, scheduled for 2021. Part of the comedies that will stand out are Ricos de Amor (produced by Anana Produções) and Carnaval,  directed by Leandro Neri and produced by Listrada Shirt.  The biographical drama Sergio will also take part of Netflix catalog, which will explore Sérgio Vieira de Mello’s life, a former Brazilian United Nations deputy. There will also be original series from Brazil such as Futebol, O Escolhido and Ninguém Tá Olhando, into others.
