The OTT, which has already reported to meet more than 30 million subscribers in Latin America according to its Q4 2019 results report, announced that from next February 1st it will add 21 films from the Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli to its contents catalog, which will be available in Latin America and other regions, with the only exceptions of the US, Canada and Japan, as CNN has officially reported.
Studio Ghibli’s productions will be added to Netflix in phases: seven films will be released on February 1st, another seven on March 1st, and the last seven on the first day of April, as detailed.
In February, the studio’s films to released will be ‘Castle in the Sky’, ‘My Neighbor Totoro’, ‘Kiki’s Delivery Service’, ‘Only Yesterday’, ‘Porco Rosso’, ‘Ocean Waves’ and ‘Tales from Earthsea’. On March 1st, films ‘Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind’, ‘Princess Mononoke’, ‘My Neighbors the Yamadas’, ‘Spirited Away’, ‘The Cat Returns’, ‘Arrietty’ and ‘The Tale of The Princess Kaguya’ will be included and, finally, on April 1st, ‘Pom Poko’, ‘Whisper of the Heart’, ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’, ‘Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea’, ‘From Up on Poppy Hill’, ‘The Wind Rises’ and ‘When Marnie Was There’ will also be added.
