Netflix officially launched this Thursday the official trailer for ‘Crimenes de Familia’, its new original Argentine film, which will be released globally right next August 20th. This is the second original film that will be part of the platform’s catalog, after the official launch of ‘La Corazonada’, which premiered on the OTT in late May.
‘‘Crimenes de Familia’ follows the story of Alicia, a desperate mother, who will do everything possible to prevent her son Daniel from being sentenced to prison, accused of attempted murder of his ex-wife. In the middle of the whole process, Alicia will discover a rugged hidden plot, which will completely change her life and turn her into a real nightmare’, Netflix reported in relation to the plot of its new original film, starring Argentine actors Cecilia Roth, Miguel Angel Sola, Benjamin Amadeo and Sofia Gala Castiglione.
In its last quarterly results report (Q2 2020), Netflix reported a total of 36.07 million subscribers in Latin America. The figure means 1,752 million customers more than the 34.3 million with which the platform ended Q1 2020, and just over 8.1 million in relation to the end of Q2 2019. In addition, Red Hastings, CEO of Netflix, announced the Ted Sarandos, current CCO of the company, as its new co-CEO. Apart from that, the company held an event in February in Buenos Aires, in which it announced a series of productions filmed in the country, which are gradually being released on the platform. To this announcement is also added the opening of a new Netflix office in Buenos Aires, as confirmed by the company through a video.
