Netflix published its numbers and growth rate in the 2017-2019 period throughout the United States and Canada (UCAN); Latin America; Asia Pacific and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). In Latin America, the OTT records 29.4 million subscribers, a 61% growth in relation to 2017, when it had 19.7 million active users.
During 2019, into other actions, the content platform established its operations center for Latin America in Mexico, integrated its catalog in Net and Claro (Brazil), agreed on the joint development of series for three years with Caracol TV (Colombia), announced that Telefonica Brazil (Vivo) integrated its app with MediaKind; its app integration on Izzitv; the removal of the free trial month in several Latin American countries; its app integration in Flow, a content production agreement in Brazil; the integration with Iris (Mirada); the recent addition to Telmex packages, and others.
The region with the highest number of subscribers at the end of Q3 2019 is UCAN, with 67.1 million subscribers. The EMEA region ranks second in terms of subscribers, and records 47.4 million as of the last day of September. Finally, Asia Pacific has 14.49 million customers at the end of the already mentioned period.
According to Netflix report, the largest ARPU recorded at the end of Q3 2019 took place IN UCAN (USD 12.36), followed by EMEA (USD 10.26), APAC (USD 9.31) and Latin America (USD 8 , 31).
