Netflix and Caracol TV to develop new series over the next three years

Colombian FTA channel Caracol TV and Netflix extended their exclusive licensing agreement to develop new productions together. Both companies will produce nine series in the next three years, for a value higher than USD 35 million. Productions will be available in Colombia through Caracol Television, and globally on Netflix.

‘Caracol Television, leader in contents production for the international market, and Netflix, leading online entertainment service in the world, continue to strengthen their partnership to bring to the international market cutting-edge contents that are setting trends. After the success of series like ‘Surviving Pablo Escobar-Alias JJ’, ‘The Girl’ and ‘The secret law’, the two companies announced the extension of their exclusive licensing agreement for new superseries in development with a minimum of nine series in the next three years’, Caracol Television reported officially.

Lisette Osorio, VP of international sales of the channel, said that ‘Caracol Television has been ratified on the international stage as a quality seal that combines powerful stories with high production standards’. In addition, she stressed that they have achieved ‘solid links with a vigorous platform, which helps our contents to  travel around the world’.

 Similarly, Gonzalo Córdoba, Caracol’s president, expressed that, by running the agreement, ‘we continue our advances in contents internationalization that have been created to speak a universal language and that have made us great pioneers within the industry’.
