NBCUniversal makes changes in its Brazilian operations

NBCUniversal International Networks announced a new management and business structure for its joint venture with Globo in Brazil. In the country, the joint-venture is responsible for the Universal TV, Studio Universal and SYFY brands on pay TV, and for the  ‘Amo Série’ YouTube account. With the announced restructuring, from now on, the group’s operations will be divided into four business lines: communication, finance, infrastructure and programming.

Within the Communication area, as part of the changes, Gabriel Williams, Head of Marketing & Product, will now also be in charge of on-air communication. Regarding the Programming area, the group announced the incorporation of Gisele Lopes, a former Globosat executive, who will be in charge of leading it.

‘We are facing a time of total transformation, challenges and opportunities’, said Marcelo Scalzo, the joint venture’s CFO. ‘The new structure provides the basis for governance that gives us the conditions to achieve our goals. We want to strengthen the connection with our audiences throughout their content consumption time,  and expand the presence of brands in the market’, he completed.
