MultiChoice rolls out Parliament TV in Zambia

MultiChoice Zambia is continuing to boost its subscribers’ television viewing experience with the launch of Parliament TV on DStv and GOtv in Zambia.

The Chief Customer Officer of MultiChoice Zambia, Leah Kooma, said, “MultiChoice is committed to providing local content that addresses issues that matter most to our customers. We are confident that by launching this channel Zambians will be better informed about local political matters and have full access to debates and other activities that are on-going in parliament. As a responsible corporate citizen, our aim is to continue to provide content that informs, educates and enriches the lives of Zambians.”

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Dr Patrick Matibini SC, specified that the government was delighted by this collaboration with MultiChoice Zambia and that the channel is a great moment in the Zambian democratic landscape and in bridging the gap between Parliament and the citizens. This is also the vision of the National Assembly of Zambia “to be a model legislature for democracy and good governance”.

The channel is a collaboration between National Assembly and MultiChoice Zambia which will be accessible from Monday to Friday when the House is in sitting and when it is on recess. It will be live on DStv Channel 272 and GOtv Channel 100.  It will air live sessions of the National Assembly and educate and inform the Zambian community on the decisions being made in parliament.
