Mubi to open its first physical cinema in Mexico City

The streaming platform Mubi announced on its official Instagram account that it will open its first physical cinema in Mexico City. Up to now, the date on which the venue will be officially opened was not reported, although the company reported that it is ‘an exploratory step in the transition from streaming to a physical realization of Mubi’.

According to information reported from the company, the new cinema is being designed in Milan, Italy, using the Armature Globale architectural technique, and will include flexible seats and four screens. In addition to the announcement on its official Instagram account, Mubi released some images of the new venue, which is already being built.

Mubi is an SVOD platform, whose catalog is accessible from various devices, including PCs, Mac, iPhone, Apple TV, Android, Playstation, Roku and Samsung smart TVs. The platform’s subscription is valued at AR$ 299 (USD 3) per month, with an initial seven-day trial period included. According to the information reported from the platform, a new movie per day is added as part of its catalog, no advertisements are shown during the broadcast of each title, and it is even possible to download the content available on iOS and Android devices.  In some countries, the platform is also implementing the TVOD format.
