Movistar to offer Netflix memberships in Colombia

Mauricio Vásquez, TV and Video Manager at Movistar Colombia, announced that Netflix and Movistar are partnering to offer plans including Netflix membership, being Movistar the first operator in Colombia to offer a Netflix plan linked to its Movistar Fiber Optic Triple Play offer. The benefit is available from February 17th at no additional cost for customers of 200 and 300 megabytes. 

 This new offer has the following benefits: Movistar Play, with 53 live channels and more than 3,500 content between films, series and documentaries, limited national long distance calls and 30 minutes of international long distance calls to: Spain, the  USA and Canada , among others.

 ‘At Movistar we bet on innovative services in the market, we believe that entertainment and high quality content are attractive to Colombian homes. Currently, we deliver a symmetric Fiber Internet service to homes, so that they can upload and download content with maximum speed.  This way, several people can navigate on cell phones, computers and screens with high definition at the same time without problems’, said Luis German Peña, Marketing Director at Telefonica Movistar Colombia.

Vasquez also said that the company ended 2019 with more than 70 thousand clients on IPTV and by this 2020 they expect to exceed 250 thousand.
