‘Merli: Sapere Aude’, Movistar’s first original production in Catalan, will be released in Latin America through Movistar Series and Movistar Play on December 5th, simultaneously with its premiere in Spain.
The series, created by Hector Lozano, was written by himself and produced by Veranda TV, by the same creative and technical team of the previous seasons, making sure Merli’s features will be on its spin off, which is possible because of an agreement between Movistar and TV3, which allows the successful series to exclusively continue in Latin America through Movistar Play and Movistar Series.
In the spin off, Pol Rubio (Carlos Cuevas) begins his Philosophy degree course at University months after Merli’s death, when the original series ended. ‘Merli: Sapere Aude’’s filming process, directed by Menna Fite, lasted 10 weeks and was set in different places from Spain, such as the University of Barcelona, the Gothic Quarter, the Raval and the beach of Barcelona.
